
.motion is an “optimal control” solver.
It will compute the optimal trajectory in time of any parameters of the boat, along a dynamic event, like a take off, a bare away, even a tack or a gibe.
The output is the optimal choreography of boat controls to pull the best manoeuvre possible.
The result can then be used to
- make design decisions ( appendages, systems, energy, cg position… )
- develop controllers ( loads, speed, accuracy, energy, targets, logic )
- benchmark .sim or real sailing
